SCREEN SERVICE

Screen Frame Repair

When the frame is part of the problem, the repair needs to consider more than the mesh. Start with a description or photo of the frame.

When this is the right place to start

Best fit when the frame itself is bent, damaged, loose, or affecting how the screen sits.

  • Bent or damaged frame sections
  • Loose corners or frame connections
  • Screens that no longer sit correctly
  • Photos that show the frame and its problem area

Useful details to have ready

  • How many frames are affected
  • Which part is damaged: a bent rail, a loose or broken corner, or a missing part
  • Photos of the full frame and close-ups of the corners or the bend

Common questions about screen frame repair

What causes screen frames to bend?

Frames are often bent when a screen is forced in or out of the window, pushed by pets or children, hit, or stored under other things. A bent rail can stop the screen from sitting flush in the window.

Can a bent frame be fixed, or does it need replacing?

It depends on how badly the frame is bent and whether the corners are intact. A mild bend or a loose corner is a different problem from a frame that is kinked or cracked. Photos of the bend and the corners help answer this on the call.

Does the mesh have to be replaced when the frame is repaired?

Not necessarily. Mesh in good condition may be reusable. If it is also worn or torn, the conversation can cover both.
